Medical bills should be readable by the people who pay them.
BillCheck started from a simple, infuriating fact: most people receive a medical bill they cannot verify. Codes they've never seen, an EOB that says something different, and a deadline nobody explains. The result is that billions of dollars in billing errors get quietly paid every year.
We built BillCheck so anyone can upload a bill and an EOB, get every line explained in plain English, see what looks wrong and why, and walk away with a ready-to-send appeal, negotiation, or hardship letter — in about a minute.
What we stand for
Your documents stay yours
Bills and EOBs are stored in a private bucket scoped to your account. Delete a case and its files go with it. Delete your account and everything is purged.
We work for you, not for hospitals
BillCheck takes no commissions, referral fees, or advertising from providers, insurers, or collection agencies. Users pay us directly, so our incentives stay aligned with yours.
Honest about what automation can and can't do
BillCheck reviews your bill and shows its reasoning for every flagged error. No human sees your documents unless you ask support. We never claim a guaranteed refund — insurers and providers make the final call.
Affordable on purpose
A single flagged error is often worth more than a year of the Family plan. Your first case is always free so you can see the value before paying anything.
How the review works
- 1
You upload the paperwork
An itemized bill and, if you have it, the Explanation of Benefits from your insurer. Photos or PDFs both work, and you can add multiple bills from the same visit.
- 2
We read it line by line
Every CPT and revenue code is decoded into plain English, cross-checked against your EOB, and compared for duplicate, unbundled, or upcoded charges plus No Surprises Act violations.
- 3
You get an action plan
Red flags with severity ratings, an estimated overcharge, tracked appeal deadlines, and a drafted letter you can download as DOCX or PDF and send yourself.

Common questions
Who is BillCheck for?
Anyone who just received a confusing medical bill or a denied claim in the US — after an ER visit, a hospital stay, imaging, labs, or an outpatient procedure.
Is BillCheck a law firm or a billing advocate?
No. BillCheck is a software tool. It explains your bill, flags what looks wrong, and drafts letters you can send yourself. It does not provide legal, medical, or financial advice.
How does BillCheck review my bill?
Your uploaded bill and EOB are reviewed line by line, medical codes are decoded, potential errors are flagged, an overcharge is estimated, and letters are drafted. A human does not review your documents unless you contact support and explicitly share your case.
How does BillCheck make money?
Directly from users. Your first case is free, the Family plan is $19/month for unlimited cases and letters, and a single one-off case is $9. We never sell your data or take commissions from providers or insurers.
What happens to my uploaded documents?
They are stored in a private bucket scoped to your account and analyzed by our review system. Only you can access them, and deleting a case deletes its files. You can delete your entire account and all associated data from your Account page.
